Update: February

First things first: Resolutions

1. Utilize my time

In January, I was still getting used to this idea of constant productivity, so it didn't always work out as well as I would like. Things are starting to get better in the way of productivity though, so it's just a matter of seeing how well I can keep this up.

2. Organize my life

I am thoroughly using my Bullet Journal, as mentioned in my post "On The New Year", every day. It helps keep track of my tasks for the day and months, as well as notes I make or thoughts I may have on things. On the topic of cleaning out unwanted items, I have been doing my research on minimalism and it seems like my answer to doing a major clean-out of my room. I will be blogging on my experience with a minimalistic lifestyle in the future.

3. Find balance between what I want to do and what I need to do

This, by far, has actually been one of my easier resolutions to keep. Because I have constructed my daily schedule to make room for the things I have to do, I find more time to do things I want to do. This seems a bit odd because you're probably thinking "Well how do you have more time to do things you want to do now than before you actually started being productive?" Well, my friend, procrastination wastes all sorts of time. When you actually spend your time getting the things that need to be done finished, you know when you've got free time. In fact, it's almost like scheduling free time.

Well, those were the resolutions. Now, there's some things that I've just picked up the habit of doing.

-I exercise a lot more. I now have a membership to the local YMCA and I go there some days of the week and exercise. On the days when I don't make it to the gym, I do yoga. Which, I do yoga every day, but I usually do more yoga on those days.

-I eat healthier. Of course, that's a typical resolution type thing that people do. They're always saying "This year I'm gonna get healthy" or "Gonna lose weight". Well, this isn't so much of a weight thing for me, or even a health problem that needs to be fixed by a better diet. I just feel better when I eat better. It's really that simple.

-I make it a point to listen to music I haven't heard before. Given, these songs are always by some type of classic rock band, I still haven't heard every AC/DC song or even every Led Zeppelin song, for that matter. However, I still listen to songs I haven't heard before each week. An album I strongly recommend if you're into acoustic rambling is The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett. I've already listened to the whole album three times this month. Someone should probably stop me. Seriously though, it's a really good album. My favorite tracks are Love You, Octopus, and Dark Globe. Though really, all the songs on that album are extremely good and I love them all.

-I make more art. Already this year, I've done more painting and sketching than I did in the last three months of last year. Hopefully, I can keep up this momentum. Perhaps even more so.

So far, the year is going fairly well. I'll continue to post monthly updates and keep track of my progress. Until next week, friends, may the Force be with you.
